Welcome to my Nightmare

Many of my healthcare clients are welcoming their friends in business to the penalty driven regulatory world that has been their reality for many years. ¬†With the “Florida Information Protection Act of 2014″ going into effect, any business or entity which has “protected information” in an electronic form may be subject to HIPAA like penalties of up to $500,000 for a breach or disclosure of that information.

Like HIPAA, the Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 requires the business to report itself, to notify their customer, and not only pay a fine, but to arrange for credit and identity protection too.

Strategies for protecting your system, and your business, need to be developed to prevent a breach, and to minimize the economic effect to your business, just as we recommend to all of our Health Care Clients.
